Meet Yara, your sports nutritionist.
Being involved in sport nearly my entire life, my passion for nutrition began in high school while competing as a varsity athlete in lacrosse. Training twice a day was a significant challenge, and I quickly realized I had little knowledge about the nutritional requirements to support my performance.
During my first year of university, I wandered into a CrossFit gym and instantly fell in love. I underwent similar struggles as I did as a high school athlete, not understanding the importance of food when it comes to becoming fitter, faster, stronger, and it was in this environment that I discovered the concept of fueling for performance.
I think many people underestimate the power of food. In a society that tells us that more training and less food is ‘healthier.’ My aim is to teach others the importance of listening to our body, supporting day to day activities, and allowing us to push ourselves beyond what we thought was possible. It all starts with fuel. Fuel good, feel good. In and out of the gym.
